Sorry for cross-posting the same message to two forums, but in thought it worth posting twice as there may be something practical we as NOS members can do.
There's a link to the video clip from BBC Breakfast today on the NOS home page. It's promoting the Fracture Liaison Service, which aims to promote more 'joined-up thinking' amongst medical professionals to investigate OP after a fragility fracture.
I'm sure some NHS Trusts are better than others. We are in a Hertfordshire. Both my partner and myself are over 60 and suffered fractures after falls in the last few months, and we both had to ask our GPs about OP. If we hadn't done so, the orthopaedic and physio teams who dealt with our fractures wouldn't have even mentioned it. So is there anything we as patients and members of NOS can do to help local adoption of Fracture Liaison Service principles? Perhaps it would help build a better picture if NOS just surveyed its members about this? Or perhaps this has been done already?
